nyeah

my voice is getting weaker
almost gone
people ask me questions
which I try to answer
but no one can hear me
yet understand me

my t's sound like d's
I have words like "pressure"
that I have so much trouble saying

somehow Micah and Howie
can hear me
decipher what I say
translate for others

I have noticed people
hear what they want to hear
assuming the answer
before they even asked the question

yes no yes no yes no
what I say doesn't matter
the answer is predetermined

voiceless
leaves me speechless

it only gets worse each morning
I can't pronounce my p's or my b's
no one can hear me
this morning we went to community yoga
my friend Curly couldn't hear me so
he woke Jackie up during shavassana
he didn't know any better
I don't have control over others
I have no voice
Rhoda Sue and Henri are back

They have patience for my eye gaze computer

A walk with Stephanie, Jill, and her daughter
We brought the umbrella so I could talk with my eye gaze computer

Talking with Mark

  1. Dear Mark,
It was a treasure to see you at the market tonight. I am so glad to have had a moment with you. I love your blog. The honesty with which you share your experience is a gift to those who read. It is so cool that you are continuing to access your blog with your eye gaze system. The remarkable courage with which you and your loved ones face this journey sets a precedent for resilience. I am aware of your suffering often and at the same time completely inspired by your humor and grace. Thanks for being still so engaged in the community in spite of the great difficulties you are experiencing. You were one of the first people I met in Big Sky back in '03 and was touched that you and Jackie remembered my name amongst all the people you know. It is always a pleasure to see you guys. I look forward to the next time I get to see you! Hang in there. Much love to you and your family.
