The height of the summer season. Store super busy and lots of visitors. Grandma Peggy has been here for the last 2 weeks and leaves tomorrow morning. Jackie's college friend Tara was here with her family and another family for a week. They left yesterday. And Uncle Sidney and Jan arrived on Friday so Stan's summer visitor's have begun! Unfortunately with all these people in town there are no days off from work. A lot of juggling going on, but in the end it's all good...
There's so much going on lately, it's amazing I'm blogging at all. Visitors and work and trying to make time for myself. Missing Murray. So many events have come and gone, Stephanie's birthday party. Concerts in the park. My allergies have been awful! Can hardly breathe yet think...
Uncle Sidney loves to tell stories. The other night he told me was in Boston with tickets to a Red Sox game with his son Josh. They were outside their hotel and were trying to figure out how to walk to the park. Sidney asked a police officer who started giving him directions, turn left, turn right and he kept repeating her directions back to her. She said, you know what, just wait here a minute. She went and got her cruiser and said get in and drove them right to the front of Fenway Park. Uncle Sidney said to her, "Let me have your badge number and I'm going to call the Chamber of Commerce." She said, "Don't call the Chamber of Commerce." Then Uncle Sidney says he went up to the ticket office to see if he could upgrade his tickets. The guy at the window says, "are you crazy, you think I'm going to upgrade your tickets, you have a Yankees hat on!" Uncle Sidney tells him, "This isn't a Yankees hat, it's an old New York Giants baseball hat."
The guy upgrades his tickets to 2 seats behind home plate, no charge! Uncle Sid and Josh get to their seats. In the first inning they get a foul ball hit right to him! He figured they were going to get a ton of foul balls, but that was the only one. In fact it was the only one he's ever caught in all the years and all the baseball games he's been to!
So Uncle Sidney and Jan will be here all week staying at Stan's. There were will be more stories I'm sure!
